How To Learn Sign Language
Welcome to Learn-Sign-Language-Fast.com
My name is Sarah Lancaster and I would like to share with you my experiences in learning sign language.
Sign language is one of those 'not so popular' languages to learn and is often given less air time than the main stream ones like 'how to learn French or Spanish or Italian'.
For a start, learning sign language requires different skill sets than learning to speak a verbal language.
For example, your hand-eye coordination and expression are primarily your main skills as apposed to the spoken word and pronunciation.
There are many people in all walks of life that are deaf or partially deaf, that depend upon communication through sign language.
Until you’ve learnt to sign, you don’t actually realize how commonly it is used.
To learn sign language is a wonderful skill to have and can be incredibly rewarding.
I decided to learn 2 years ago when my nephew - Joshua was born with 90% hearing loss. By learning sign language I was able to communicate with him before most children with normal hearing are able to verbally communicate.
I started off with just the basic words in sign language including numbers and the alphabet. But because I enjoyed it so much I was soon signing fluently!
I find sign language both fascinating and incredible and now spend much of my time teaching others as well as working in my local school for deaf and partially deaf children.
That’s why I decided to create this little website. So that I could advice anyone who themselves would like to learn or merely discover what sign language is all about.
Like you, I went online to look for more information and to see if there were any courses available in my local area or on the web.
In the end I decided to try an online course run by a company called Rocket Languages.
The course was exactly what I wanted as I could learn at my own pace and fit the course around the times that were suitable for me.

Learning this way was certainly the best decision for me. It was a really enjoyable and fun way to learn and I can’t recommend the course highly enough.

If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you. Drop me your views at the end of any of the articles.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the luck in the world in learning sign language. Trust me; it is one of the most rewarding skills you will ever learn!
Warmly,
Sarah Lancaster
